Choice Scholars is a private Montessori based New York elementary school serving children ages 5-10. Here dedicated mentors, supportive parents and amazing scholars come together to teach, learn and grow with one another.
We offer a nurturing, unique learning experience based on Montessori methodology and Harvard Professor and Brain Scientist Dr. Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences. It postulates that there are many different intelligences and we each possess them in varying degrees. They include: Logical (Number Smart), Spatial (Picture Smart), Linguistic (Word Smart), Kinesthetic (Body Smart), Musical (Music Smart), Interpersonal (Self Smart), Intrapersonal (People Smart), and Naturalistic (Nature Smart). They serve as the medium children use to process and understand knowledge more efficiently.
Choice Scholars Montessori program fortifies intellectual, social and emotional development while encouraging children's use of their smarts to enrich their lives, families, communities and our world. Mentors incorporate student interests, and use them to create inquiry based learning experiences.
Language arts, math, science, and humanities, combine with social and emotional awareness workshops, foreign language, visual/performing arts to nurture the whole child. Small classes and creative programs foster exploration, intellectual ownership and achievement.

Our Montessori based school is located on the border of Crown Heights/Prospect Heights section of Brooklyn, New York, which is a community rich in resources. We are a few blocks away from the Botanical Gardens and Brooklyn Museum. The Brooklyn Public Library and Prospect Park are just down the hill. And, the 2,3,4 and 5 trains are conveniently located at the Franklin Avenue Station.
